U.S. Air Force Veteran Wins $100,000 Powerball Prize

U.S. Air Force Veteran Wins $100,000 Powerball Prize

A U.S. Air Force veteran has won a "life changing" $100,000 Powerball prize, having bought a Powerball ticket with Power Play at a 7-Eleven store in Waldorf, Maryland. The veteran, whose name has not been released, is known to be a regular Powerball and Mega Millions player and she commented "I’ve been playing for seven years and I just knew it was going to pay off at some point."

The winning numbers in drawn order for the April 8th drawing were 23, 36, 51, 53 and 60 with Powerball 15 and Power Play 2. Players have the option to add Power Play, which increases the prize payout for most non-jackpot wins by a multiple of two, three, four or five, depending on the Power Play number drawn. When speaking about the win, the mother of one told Maryland Lottery officials "this couldn’t have come at a better time." The 37-year-old plans to set aside some of the winnings to pay for future college expenses for her child as well as to pay off bills.

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday 29th is an estimated $113 Million.
