Attorney Claims $191.1 Million Powerball Jackpot for Louisiana Family Partnership

Where was the winning ticket sold? 

The three-member lottery pool bought the jackpot-winning Powerball ticket at Brownie's supermarket at 150 W Maple Avenue in the small city of Eunice. The owner of the store, Jeffery Duplechin, commented on the win, saying, “I'm very excited to put Eunice on the map with this big win! It's well known that successful tickets are sold here."

What were the winning Powerball numbers? 

The winning Powerball numbers for the drawing on October 25th were 18, 22, 29, 54, 57, and the Powerball was 8. In addition to the jackpot prize, there were over 700,000 other prize winners on the night of the drawing. Two players from Florida won the Match 5 prize of $1 million and 22 players matched 4 main numbers plus the Powerball number to become $50,000 richer. In a statement released by the attorney on behalf of the winning family partnership, they mentioned how excited they were to win the jackpot: "We are absolutely elated that we won. We are a quiet family and prefer not to be treated as celebrities. As for our plans, we like to travel and will continue to do that - may even upgrade a bit! For those that say you'll never win, well ‘never’ was on October 25th!"

The last Louisiana Powerball winner was The Williams Trust in May 2013, when the grand prize amounted to $50 million. The winning ticket was sold in New Orleans at Franklin Shell Gas Station. 

How will they spend the winnings? 

The family, who are regular lottery players, opted for the cash lump-sum of nearly $120 million before taxes and will take home approximately $83.6 million. They plan on using the winnings to "partially retire" as well as travel.

With only three draws left till Christmas Day, the Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $229 million.
