It was revealed shortly after the drawing that the only ticket to match all the numbers was sold in Pennsylvania, making it the 19th jackpot win in the state’s history. The most recent came in March 2018, when the Emerald Legacy Trust claimed $456 million.

The latest winner will have a choice between taking the $206 million as an annuity over 29 years, or a cash sum of $122.3 million.

In Pennsylvania, there is a claim period of one year from the date of a winning draw. Winners are able to claim prizes through legal trusts if they wish to preserve their anonymity.

Prior to Wednesday’s drawing, the jackpot had not been won since a player from Vermont landed $366 million on June 29th.

There have now been six jackpot winners in 2022. The biggest of the year came back on January 5th, when a prize of $632 million was split between two ticket holders.

The jackpot will now reset to $20 million, with drawings continuing every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night. Use the Powerball Checker to find out after every draw if you are a winner.
