$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in New York Just in Time for Christmas
With just a week to go until Christmas, one Powerball fan from New York has even more reason to celebrate, as they are now $1 million richer having matched five main numbers in the drawing on Saturday December 9th. The winning Match 5 ticket was sold at the 2020 convenience store at 3806 29th Street in Long Island City. New York Lottery officials are urging players to check their tickets.
What were the winning Powerball numbers?
The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday December 16th were 9, 35, 37, 50, 63, Powerball 11, and the Power Play number was 2x. There were a total of 956,643 prize winners on the night and the New York ticket holder was the only player to win a Match 5 prize. The Match 5 winning ticket holder has one year to claim their Powerball prize, and it must be claimed at one of the sixteen customer service centers in the state of New York. The length of time to claim a prize varies from state to state, so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to pick up any payouts due on winning tickets.
