Powerball Jackpot Roll Continues: Wednesday Draw Estimated at $1.25 Billion

A New Rollover Record

Although the current jackpot run is a long way off the biggest ever Powerball jackpot (worth just over $2 billion, won in California by a single player called Edwin Castro back in 2022), it's already set a different kind of record.

It's been 43 draws since the Powerball jackpot was last won back in September, which is actually a new record for the most consecutive Powerball rollovers! The previous record of 41 was set earlier this year by the $1.8 billion jackpot won in September, shared by two winners in Missouri and Texas.

Big Powerball Winners for This Run

Despite the long string of rollovers, there have still been plenty of noteworthy Powerball prizes won. Since the current jackpot run began on September 8^th, there have been over 70 prizes awarded worth $1 million, or $2 million for tickets using the Power Play add-on. Two of those 70 prizes were awarded in the most recent draw, a million dollars each to two players who purchased their tickets in Arizona and California.

While there have been plenty of Double Play prizes awarded over the course of the jackpot run, no players have managed to snag the Double Play jackpot, a fixed $10 million prize. Winning the Double Play jackpot has the same odds as the main Powerball game, so this is hardly surprising considering the much lower number of players adding Double Play to their tickets. After all, it isn't even an available option in many states!
