Powerball and NASCAR Renew Partnership for 2026
Powerball and NASCAR have teamed up again for 2026 to offer lots of cash prizes and the chance to become a millionaire. The promotion has been renamed as NASCAR Powerball - The Chase to $1 Million, and it will build up to a climax on November 8.
‘Incredible Opportunity’
The promotion starts at state level, with participating lotteries holding their own competitions, such as second-chance drawings. Each state promotion will work its own way, with different entry periods, but each participating lottery will submit one ‘semi-finalist’ by the end of the regular NASCAR season on September 6.
These semi-finalists advance to a series of drawings that will take place alongside key dates on the NASCAR calendar. From there, they will gradually be whittled down to four finalists, who will each get to enjoy a VIP trip for two to Miami for NASCAR Championship Weekend on November 6-8.
Cash prizes increase for those left in contention, until one player is declared the winner live on NBC and receives $1 million. Go to the NASCAR Powerball page for more information about how the promotion will work.
“The recent changes to NASCAR’s championship format gave us an incredible opportunity to reimagine this winning experience for our players,” said Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO. “This is a chance to enjoy an all-new VIP destination for Championship Weekend and collect cash prizes throughout The Chase – just like sport’s top drivers collect points.”
Michelle Byron, Executive Vice President and Chief Partnership & Licensing Officer at NASCAR, added: “NASCAR Powerball – The Chase to $1 Million brings the intensity and excitement of our new championship to life in a way only NASCAR can. By aligning this promotion with the drama of The Chase and culminating in a live, on-air moment during Championship Weekend, we’re creating a one-of-a-kind experience that connects fans and players directly to the heart of our sport.”
Fourth Year of NASCAR Link-Up
Powerball and NASCAR have forged a successful partnership every year since 2023. The promotion has followed a similar format each time, aiming to combine the thrill of racing and winning.
The first winner was Stephanie Walker from West Point in Mississippi, followed by Louisiana resident Meagan Lewis in 2024 and Francisco Erives of Kansas in 2025.
Check your state lottery for details of how to enter, and make sure to play Powerball regularly so that you are always in a position to join in with any second-chance contests. Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night - view the winning numbers as soon as they are available.
