UK Powerball Information

Find out all the information you need to know about UK Powerball below. Learn how to take part, what prizes are on offer and what you need to do to win. Draws are held on Wednesday and Saturday nights at 9:59pm.

How to Play

To bet on UK Powerball, pick six numbers from 1 to 50, plus one Powerball from 1 to 5. You can only take part online, there’s no option to play at your local retailer. The steps below guide you through exactly what to do:

  1. Select one of the ‘Pick Numbers’ links on this website.
  2. Select your numbers. You can choose your own – six main numbers from 1 to 50 and one Powerball from 1 to 5, or you can select the Quick Pick option to get a random selection. Remember that the Powerball number is taken from a different set, so the same number can appear twice in the same draw.
  3. Choose whether to enter just the next draw or multiple draws. UK Powerball costs £1.50 per line, but there’s also a subscription option which saves you money if you are keen to bet on every draw.
  4. Select ‘Add To Cart’. You can then review your selections to make sure you are happy. Tap on a line to edit it, or the ‘Trash’ icon if you want to delete it.
  5. Press the ‘Pay’ button. If you’re a first-time user, this will allow you to set up an online account.
  6. Wait for the draw to take place. You can see the latest UK Powerball Results straight after every draw.

If you select one of the subscription options, you will save 10 percent, so the cost per line will be £1.35 instead of £1.50. You can choose to subscribe for either one month or three months. This ensures you will never miss a draw, and the subscription automatically renews unless you cancel it.

Prizes and Odds of Winning

There’s a jackpot of £4.2 million in every draw. To win it, you need to match all six of the main numbers drawn, plus the Powerball. If more than one player matches all the numbers, the £4.2 million will be split between them. The jackpot does not roll if nobody wins.

You can also win by matching fewer numbers. In fact, you are guaranteed a prize as long as you match the Powerball, even if you don’t get any of the first six numbers. This makes the overall odds of winning a prize better than 1 in 5.

The following table shows all the different prize categories, plus the odds of winning for each one.

Numbers to Match Odds Prize
6 + Powerball 1 in 79,453,500 Jackpot (£4.2million)
5 + Powerball 1 in 300,960 £8,888
4 + Powerball 1 in 5,599 £88
3 + Powerball £4.50 2%
2 + Powerball 1 in 39 £2
0 + Powerball 1 in 5 Free Bet

From time to time, a UK Powerball Superdraw is scheduled. The jackpot is increased by more than three times its usual value, up to £13.3 million, for one draw only. Whether there’s a winner or not, the top prize resets to £4.2 million for the subsequent draw.

Claiming Prizes

As UK Powerball is exclusively available online, it’s really easy to claim prizes. You will be notified by email if you win, and prizes will be credited to your account. This can take up to 72 hours. You can then decide whether to withdraw your winnings or use them to bet on future draws.

If you’re lucky enough to win the jackpot, further instructions will be provided about what happens before the money can be wired to your bank account.

If you match just the Powerball and receive a free bet, you can activate this by logging in to your online account the next time you want to try and win UK Powerball.
