$1.32 Billion Powerball Jackpot Won in Oregon

After three months without a winner, the huge Powerball jackpot was finally won on Saturday night as a single ticket matched all the numbers. The winning ticket was sold in Oregon, netting the lucky player a payout worth $1.32 billion.

The numbers drawn on April 6 were 22, 27, 44, 52 and 69, with Powerball 9. The Power Play multiplier was 3X, and across the country there were millions of prizes given away. These included seven in the Match 5 prize category, worth $1 million. These tickets were sold in Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan and Wyoming.

Go to the Numbers page to find out more information about what happened in one of Powerball’s biggest-ever draws. You’ll be able to see a breakdown of all the prizes won, and go through to state-specific results pages to discover the payouts in your location.

The draw was actually delayed by more than three hours - eventually taking place at around 2:30 AM ET - as one of the participating lotteries needed more time to complete required security procedures.

The jackpot had not previously been won since New Year’s Day, when someone from Michigan landed $842 million. The grand prize recently surged back past that figure and into the top four of all time.

It was still valued far lower than the record-breaking $2.04 billion won by California’s Edwin Castro in November 2022, but a few more draws without a winner could have seen it challenging the top of the table.

Instead, one player - or perhaps a lottery pool - can look forward to life with a hugely enhanced bank balance. Even if they decide to take the cash option rather than the annuity, it is worth $621 million.

The winner now has one year to stake their claim. With few exceptions, staying anonymous is not an option in Oregon, so when the winner comes forward there will be some more information disclosed.

All that is known about the winning ticket at the moment is that it was sold in northeast Portland, in ZIP Code 97218, an area that includes Portland International Airport.

As for the jackpot, that will reset to $20 million for the next drawing. It’s still an amount that would undoubtedly set you up for a bright financial future, so make sure to pick up a ticket at your earliest convenience, then check the winning numbers on Powerball.net as soon as they are available.
