Powerball Double Play Kicks off in Connecticut

Nutmeggers can now play their lucky Powerball number selections twice per draw by adding Double Play to their tickets, doubling the fun of Powerball and giving lottery players in The Constitution State more chances to win. The first drawing to feature Double Play took place recently, much to the excitement of lottery players.

What is Double Play?

If you don’t yet know — and if you reside in Connecticut you may well not — Double Play is a second draw that takes place right after the main Connecticut Powerball drawing. It allows lottery players not only one but two draws from the same numbers, doubling the excitement for just an extra $1 per play.

The Double Play option is available in many states, but has just opened to Nutmeggers. The first Connecticut Powerball draw where Double Play was playable took place November 5 2025, and drew winning numbers 7, 10, 18, 21, and 61.

Double Play offers a fixed top prize of $10 million as well as several other prizes. Look at our table to see what you can win:

History of Double Play

Announced in 2021, the Double Play option debuted in 13 jurisdictions across the country including Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington. Other states followed suit later on, with the latest to join being Connecticut.

Ticket sales from regular Powerball drawings have contributed substantial funds to vital public programs and services in each state where it’s played, and Double Play has only increased this figure.  Since its first game in 1992, Powerball has raised $25 billion for good causes supported by state lotteries.

Add Double Play Today

Why not add Double Play to your next Powerball play? Powerball draws take place three times a week — Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at roughly 10:59 PM EST, and it’s simple to add Double Play.

If you buy your ticket at a general store in your area, just tell the clerk you want Powerball with Double Play. If using a play slip, then mark it on there — play slips will usually have a “Double Play - YES/NO” box beside or under the Power Play option.

Powerball odds are heating up, with the next drawing’s estimated jackpot currently standing at $467 million, which carries a cash value of $220.7 million. Get more information about the first Powerball drawing that included Double Play in Connecticut here.
