$447.8 Million Powerball Jackpot Won in California

A lucky Powerball ticket holder from California has become the fourth player to win the game’s jackpot in 2017, picking up $447.8 million. It ranks as the seventh largest top prize in the history of the game and the winning ticket was bought at Marietta Liquor and Deli in Menifee, where the owners of the store are said to be ecstatic, boasting that this is the third million-dollar winning ticket they have sold.

The winning numbers for the Saturday June 10th drawing were 20, 26, 32, 38 and 58, and Powerball 3. There were three other big winners on the night, two from California and one from Ohio, who matched five main numbers to bank $1 million each. You can view the full prize breakdown and payouts for this and previous drawings by visiting the Powerball Numbers page.

The Californian winner has a year to contact the Californian Lottery officials and claim their prize. They can choose the cash lump sum of $279.1 million or take the full amount, which is paid out in annual installments over 29 years. The previous Powerball jackpot winner of $60 million was an anonymous winner from Arizona. They chose the cash option of $36.4 million after withholdings.

The excitement continues in Menifee, as residents eagerly wait for the winner to step forward. Lottery officials have urged the lucky player to sign the back of their ticket and to visit one of the nine lottery district offices as soon as possible.

In the meantime, Powerball fans can try their luck in Wednesday’s drawing. The jackpot is an estimated $40 million and tickets are available from authorized retailers or players can choose numbers online. Good luck!
